St. Ninian's Uniting Parish
 
  St. Ninian's Uniting Parish is located on the corner of Newcombe Cres and Karori just minutes from the heart of the Karori town centre
 
The refurbished community centered complex completed in 2003 is utilised by many community and church groups on a daily basis
 
It includes a nave with a pipe organ, a chapel opening into the nave, a large hall, a choir room, a well-appointed kitchen, common room and separate lounge that also serves as an area for restless children on Sunday morning.
 
There are meeting rooms, a family worker's office and children's church rooms. It also features a brand new and prominently placed reception and adminstration area, including the minister's office
 
     
 
Worship Center
  The Worship Center has been designed for contempory use while maintaining the traditional features of the Nave.
 
New furniture for the altar was created from wood recycled from some of the originals pews. The altar furniture is removeable and a communion rail can be placed at the front of the altar when required
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
  The nave seats about 200 people including seating in the Ward Memorial Chapel which is at the back of the church
 
The church is fitted with a sound system which includes a hearing aid loop. The adjacent St. John's Lounge also has speakers in it so that this room may be used as a creche during Sunday Services
 
There is special seating for the choir at the front of the church with a pipe organ and piano.
 
   
   
St. John's Lounge
   
This lounge is suitable for meetings, children's playgroups, and is used as a creche during weekly Sunday services. The room has tables and chairs suitable for both adults and children
It is located adjacent to the Worship center and also is accessible to the kitchen and the hall
The Lounge is named for the former St. John's Methodist Church which formed part of our Uniting Parish. The lounge is decorated with photos memorabilia from this Church.
 
     
 
Ward Memorial Chapel
 
  The Chapel is named for former Ward Memorial Methodist Church in Northland, another part of our Uniting Parish
 
The Chapel is open during office hours - Tuesday - Friday and is available for quiet meditation and reflection
The Chapel is at the back of the Nave separated by glass doors which can be opened as required
The furniture in the Chapel is from the former Ward Memorial Methodist Church
 
 
Other Facilities
 
 
The Kitchen equiped with oven, microwave, stove top, dishwasher, automatic zip and crockery
Small meeting room suitable for groups of 10 - 15
 
  Family room with sliding doors to outside area (still under development). Sunday school room adjoins to family room and has small tables and chairs suitable for groups of 15- 20 children if using both rooms
 
  The Common room which is between the main entrance way and the hall and adjoins to the kitchen. Suitable for groups up to 30 people, morning and afternoon teas, luncheons etc. The Hall is the orginal St. Ninian's Church and provides space for larger groups for meetings and activities. Includes a stage, piano and a sound system can be made available if needed.
 
Conditions of hireage
The buildings are offered for community use on the basis of co-operation and with every consideration to the many groups who use it. The buildings will only be hired to those wishing to hold events suitable to church property. Smoking is not permitted in any part of the buildings. Alcohol can only be served at the discretion of the Parish Administrator/Parish Council and should be negotiated at the time of hire.
Charges for hire ( all per hour)
'One off' events for any part of the complex
Concerts, parties, meetings etc - minimum charge $20 for the first hour and thereafter $15 per hour
Regular events, weekly and monthly
Hall/toilets/kitchen and common room $15 per hour
Lounge/toilets/kitchen $13 per hour
Hall/toilets only $12 per hour
Sunday School rooms $12 per hour
 
Non funded community groups and church members are asked to use the above charges on which to base their donation

Equipment for hire
Tv and video, Overhead projector and screen, whiteboards, pianos, pipe organ, sound system
For hire of church equipment, in order that the church can continue to offer these items for use by all, we ask you please to make a donation towards the upkeep/replacement of this equipment.
